Meet the Leaders

Faron Owen, Pastor

My name is Faron Owen and it will be my absolute privilege and joy to serve as your pastor.  I am blessed to be married to Christa who is a saint who agreed to marry a pastor with five children.  She is the Compliance Officer at Farmer’s National Bank in Danville.  She is a UK Wildcat and has her Master of Education from the University of the Cumberlands.  Collectively we have six children: Seth, Faron II, Faith, Declan, Sarah, and Morgan.

It is my goal to always live my life in a way that makes it easy for others to believe in Jesus and to proclaim His good news in a way that shines light into darkness, hope into despair, and joy into heartache.  Life these days can be tough and we all need the transforming power of the perfect love of the Father.  I look forward to sharing that kind of love with each of you and then together sharing it with the world!

Regina Carrier, Administrative Assistant

I served as Administrative Assistant to the pastor since 2004. I teach the Preschool-Kindergarten Sunday School class. I retired in 2002 after teaching 31 years.  Twenty-seven of those years were at Hustonville Elementary.  I have two children, Nicole and Marshall, and four grandchildren, Karsyn, Cole, Grasyn, and Camden.

Brenda Ellis, Treasurer/Communication Coordinator

I served as treasurer at Moreland UMC and have continued in that position at Westside Community UMC.  I have served as Communication Coordinator for the past thirteen years.  Currently, I teach the Elementary Sunday School class.   I retired in 2006 after teaching in the Danville Schools for 33 years.  I have one son, Brad, and two grandsons, Hagen and Hunter.

Bonnie Billock, Children's Coordinator

I am so excited to be the Children's Pastor!  My husband Steve and I have been blessed with 6 children and even more blessed to have added 9 grandchildren to our lives!  We both love children and are thrilled to be able to share the love of God with the children that come to Westside.  I also work full time in a long-term care facility.  I graduated in May 2022 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Christian Ministry.  It amazes me to see how God fulfills His purpose and call for our lives if we are willing to follow His Lead.
