Words from the Pastor
After much prayerful discussion, they have decided it is time for us to move worship back inside the sanctuary. We will continue to worship at 10 a.m., and Sunday school will continue as it has been. Our guidelines are on our website and I have included them below. They are the same as what we published at the end of May with one addition. We will be designating the right side of the sanctuary as seating for those in the most “vulnerable” population and they will be dismissed first at the end of service. They will exit through the rear doors to maintain the greatest amount of social distance. A significant number of our members are in the vulnerable category, so we ask you to wear a mask out of respect for them and for your own personal protection.
Recently I have been approached by a church member who has been learning about the blessings that come when you trust God with your tithe. They have been so moved they want everyone to experience the same blessing, so they are issuing a challenge for the congregation to increase giving. A challenge where they use their money to support that challenge. They have committed to match, dollar for dollar, any new giving that comes in the next month. Their hope is that those who currently give will increase their giving and those who haven’t been giving will start. If you currently give $500 a month and increase to $600, they will match the $100 increase. If you don’t currently give they will match anything that you start to give. They are confident that God will bless your giving and that having experienced His blessing you will continue the habit.
As a reminder, the Missions team, UMW and UMM have decided not to do the yard sale this year, so they will not be accepting yard sale merchandise donations. There will be a pie sale as a missions fundraiser the week of Thanksgiving in case you are hankering for pie. And we will be back with the yard sale, kitchen and renting booths in 2021.
See you all Sunday. Until then may God bless and keep you and make His face shine upon you.

o Support Guatemala
The country of Guatemala’s borders have been closed since the pandemic began, so CRI has not been able to host any mission teams this year. It has changed the nature of their ministry and reduced the amount of financial resources they have to be able to do ministry.
They have shifted their ministry focus from building houses to feeding the hungry families who have not been able to work during this shutdown.
$20 will purchase a box of 160 meals. That means that a gift of $125 can feed 1,000 people! If 100 of us would simply give a tithe towards Guatemala of our $1,200 stimulus check, we can feed 96,000 people!
In the same way you would have supported the mission team we normally send, please considering making a financially contribution to help feed the hungry in a country that doesn’t have the support systems that we are blessed with in America.
You can give online or through the church center app, simply choose “Guatemala” in the drop down menu box.
